Oscar was our first
rescue in 2008. He was found in April on the main road
outside King Charles high school in Kidderminster. On
inspection, he couldn't walk on his left back leg. He
was dragging his foot and he was heavily infested with
ticks.
After a visit to the vets, where he was prescribed an
anti-inflammatory drug, we confined him for a few days
and treated him for his ticks. We carefully removed over
45 of them. Oscar was then put into one of our outside
hutches and after just a few days, he began to improve.
After 10 days he had full use of his leg and he was in a
lot better condition (as you can see in the last two
pictures above). We released him shortly after.
Had he been left to fend for himself, his leg would have
become grazed and infected from being constantly
dragged. It would have been a very different outcome for
him.
