Max came in on 24th
September at 9pm at night, weighing 295 grams another
autumn juvenile.
One of our neighbour’s dogs down the road had attacked
Max at the back of their shed, he was squealing in pain
when he arrived. On examination I found 4 bite wounds
fortunately they were only small and because he was
brought straight here I was able to flush the wounds out
and give anti-biotic cover so they didn’t get infected.
After 3 weeks he was released back into the garden
weighing 575grms just under the hibernation target
weight of 600 grams, due to mild weather at that time.
Hopefully he will hibernate successfully and I hope to
see him wandering around in the future.
